Tour Summary

Take this fabulous tour from Cabo San Lucas Marina aboard the Pez Gato to see Gray Whales in their natural environment. Seasonally, from the beginning of the year through the end of March, Gray Whales migrate to the pleasant waters of the Sea of Cortez from the cold waters off Alaska. These beautiful cetaceans travel south in order to mate, give birth, and nurse their young in the warm waters off the Baja Peninsula. Gray Whales are especially unusual amongst whales because they are the only whales to feed off the sea floor. These bottom feeders sift through the silt for the small nutritious crustaceans that remarkably sustain such a gargantuan animal. These cetaceans prefer to remain close to the coastline and mother Grays favor the security of the coves and bays in the Sea of Cortez. You don't want to miss this opportunity to see these splendid cetaceans in the wild. You may even see a mother with her calf.

This tour will depart from the docks in Cabo San Lucas Marina in the mid-morning to early afternoon, when the Gray Whales are most likely to be seen surfacing. Be sure to bring along your camera to snap some keepsake photographs of these majestic creatures. The advantage of a whale watching tour in our Hawaiian-style sailing catamaran is that you can approach these marine mammals without disturbing them with noisy motor noise. Instead of feeling like you are jammed into a motorized party boat far over the surface of the Sea of Cortez, you can feel the sea spray and view the foamy whitewater as the Whales breach the surface.

Thanks to the professional guides! I was a bit worried about kayaking because I had never done it before, but the instructions were great and I had such a good time!
