Tour Summary

Every winter, a large population of Gray Whales participates in a mass migration from the frigid waters off the coast of Alaska in the northern Pacific Ocean and the Bering Sea to the warm waters of the Mexican Pacific coast and the Sea of Cortez. You and your party will be amazed as these gargantuan cetaceans breach the surface of the water in a dramatic show of their awesome power. From January through March every year, tourists visiting Cabo San Lucas are delighted by the sight of these aquatic behemoths. Although Gray Whales are the most common whale species to visit the waters near Cabo, other whale species including Humpback Whales also migrate to Los Cabos area. Gray Whales are a species that have a tendency to stay closer to shore, nursing their calves in the shelter of coastal lagoons. The Gray Whales travel to warmer climes to mate, give birth and nurse. Gray whales are the only known species of Whales to bottom-feed by filtering nutritious crustaceans from the soil on the sea bed. Children will be intrigued by these fascinating creatures. This expedition will spark the inspiration for kids to learn even more about the natural world and the worlds oceanic environments. Our knowledgeable crew of naturalists will educate passengers about the biology, feeding habits, migration patterns, courtship, family structures, and communication of the intelligent marine mammals that visit the region, including Whales, Dolphins, and Sea Lions. Well pass by the Sea Lion Colony near Lands End where scores of these creatures can be seen sunbathing along the rocky shoreline. Pacific bottlenose Dolphins, Spinner Dolphins and Spotted Dolphins, may also be spotted frolicking in the surf near Cabo.

Kids also love the atmosphere on the Buccaneer Queen, a realistic reproduction of an Eighteenth Century pirate sailing vessel. There is not a more suitable setting to ignite a childs imagination than on the deck of this wooden schooner. The entire family will feel as though they are members of tour crew of swashbucklers. You will not find a more colorful and entertaining atmosphere to watch marine mammals in the wild.

I have been to the Bahamas many times, but Buccaneer Queen Whale Watching Adventure is one of my favorite trips! It includes everything that everyone should do here. As a Bahamas veteran, I can say only the best about this experience!

Thanks to the professional guides! I was a bit worried about kayaking because I had never done it before, but the instructions were great and I had such a good time!
